Concealed Carry Classes

Classes are taught by NRA Certified Instructors, Police Officers
and MP's in a safe, friendly environment where new and
experienced shooters are welcome.

The State of Ohio requires

Each course, class, or program must provide to each person who takes the course,
class, or program a copy of the pamphlet prepared by the Ohio peace officer training
commission that reviews firearms, dispute resolution, and use of deadly force matters.
Each class must include at least 12 hours of training in the safe handling and use of a
firearm that shall include all of the following:

At least 10 hours of training in the following matters: Safe handling and proper storage,
the ability to demonstrate and handle ammunition safely, the ability to demonstrate the
knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to shoot a handgun in a safe manner, gun
handling training, and:

At least two hours of training that consists of range time and live-fire training. To
complete the course the applicant shall pass a competency examination given by the
instructor of the class.

Some Restrictions

Not be under indictment or charged with a felony, any drug offense, a misdemeanor
offense of violence or negligent assault or a violation of Ohio Revised Code Section
2923.1211 (This section deals with altering a concealed carry license or being in
possession of a license that has been revoked), and

Not (ever) have a conviction for any felony, any drug offense or assault when the
victim was a law enforcement officer, and

In the last 3 years, have no convictions for misdemeanor offenses of violence, and

In the last 5 years, have no more than one conviction for assault or negligent assault,
and

In the last 10 years, have no convictions for resisting arrest, and

Not be an adjudicated mental defective, and

Not be a subject of any protection orders issued by this or another state.
